IMAGING

Our Radiology Department provides a full-range of diagnostic testing services using state-of-art equipment, bringing imaging excellence into the community. Our services include Conventional Radiology, Contrast Studies, Digital Angiography, Hemodynamics, Interventional Radiography, Lineal Tomography, Helicoidal Tomography, Doppler and 4D Ultrasonography and Mammography.

Ultrasonography
Our Imaging Department has three modern, high resolution machines. One special type of machine is the Siemens Sonoline Ellegra model, with SieEscape system, allows clinicians to clearly instantly see expansive views of internal organs using high-resolution, real-time ultrasound. These panoramic images display organs and their adjacent anatomy in one image, eliminating the need for physicians to mentally piece together a complete picture of anatomical structures. The applications are diverse and special reference is made to exploring musculo-skeletal pathology which is often referred to our department from the Sports Medicine or Traumatology/Orthopedics services.  Another machine available at the hospital is the High Resolution Phillips Model HDI 4000 with fourth dimension technology.  The third equipment available is the high resolution portable Phillips Envisor with color Doppler and three transducers for different applications.

Mammography offers comprehensive diagnostic and screening services. Specialists in the Department detect and diagnose breast cancer by performing state-of-art lesion analysis by physical exploration and by using specialized mammographic views, magnification views, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography. The hospital has the Giotto Mammographer making the study shorter in time and with greater precision for the sterotaxic exploration of breasts, locating minute malignant and benign lesions that manually cannot be detected.  This equipment has a Gantri for proper breast angulation and for biopsies requiring exactness and minimal discomforts for the patient.

Helicoidal Computed Tomography is a medical imaging method using tomography where digital geometry processing is used to generate a three-dimensional image of the inside of an object from a large series of two-dimensional X-ray images taken around a single axis of rotation.  Our CT equipment Somatom Plus 4 by Siemens is of high resolution and using the other linear and volumetric reconstruction programs and the use of oral and intravenous contrast medium, the exactness and sensitivity of the test sustains medical diagnosis and the best management for patients.
